Vaccines to enter 7th grade

Florida Department of Health in Volusia County

Questions about when the vaccinations will be offered in your child's school?

Vaccine

Before a child enters 7th grade, proof of current vaccinations are required. The Florida Department of Health (DOH-Volusia) and Volusia County Schools often hear that parents find it difficult to arrange for their children to receive these vaccinations.

The recommended vaccines listed below protect adolescents from very serious preventable diseases.

No-cost vaccinations are available at DOH-Volusia locations. Please call 386-274-0509 to schedule an appointment.

Vaccines are the best defense we have against serious, preventable and sometimes deadly contagious diseases. They help avoid expensive therapies and hospitalization needed to treat infectious diseases. Immunizations also reduce absences both at school and at after-school activities and decrease the spread of illness at home, school and in the community.
