Florida Department of Health in Volusia County Tobacco Prevention

In Volusia County, youth under age 18 who receive a tobacco citation are required to attend the Tobacco Citation class. The class covers:

  • The composition of tobacco

  • What makes tobacco so addictive

  • How dangerous tobacco is to the developing brain

  • The law on tobacco use and possession in Florida

  • Information on and risks of electronic nicotine delivery systems.
