For women, STDs are harder to see and feel
Compared to men, women are less likely to have symptoms of common sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) such as chlamydia and gonorrhea. Symptoms that do occur can go away even though the infection is still in your body. If the STD is not treated, it can cause infertility and ectopic pregnancy.
Free STD testing is available. Locate a testing site near you here.
Are you pregnant?
Having an STD when you're pregnant or when you give birth can cause health problems for your baby. The Department of Health in Volusia County offers free STD testing in Daytona Beach, New Smyrna Beach and Orange City. Other free testing sites also are available.
