Special Medical Needs Program
The purpose of the program is to provide transportation and sheltering for Volusia County residents who have mental or physical limitations or disabilities and have no other option but to request public assistance for evacuation planning in the event of a disaster such as a hurricane.

VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA – As cold temperatures are expected to continue throughout the coming days, community organizations in Volusia County are extending cold-weather sheltering through Saturday, operating shelters on the evenings of Wednesday through Saturday, Jan. 28–31, to assist individuals without adequate heating or shelter.
