Volusia County, Fla. — The precautionary boil water notice issued Saturday, October 3, for Volusia County water utility customers in portions of Volusia and Flagler counties has been lifted. The notice affected customers in Halifax Plantation, Sugar Mill, Fairchild Oaks, Plantation Oaks of Flagler, Wexford Cove, and Wexford Reserve.

The county has completed two rounds of bacteriological testing, and both rounds met all regulatory standards, confirming the water is safe to drink and use. Customers in the affected areas may resume normal water use, including drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, and washing dishes, without boiling their water.

The precautionary boil water notice was issued after an electrical disruption during inclement weather temporarily stopped pumping equipment serving the affected areas, resulting in a loss of water pressure. Volusia County utility crews responded and restored operations.
