DELAND - The Florida Department of Health in Volusia County is partnering with the Spring Hill Neighborhood Association, Spring Hill Boys and Girls Club and Stetson University to host a Community Health Town Hall for DeLand's Spring Hill residents on Tuesday, November 17 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The event will be held at the Bright House/Spring Hill Boys and Girls Club at 935 South Adelle Avenue, in DeLand.

The town hall meeting introduces the Community Health Assessment initiative which identifies key health needs and issues through systematic, comprehensive data collection and analysis. The process engages community members in a dialogue with the goal of ranking their top environmental and public health concerns via a neighborhood assessment.

"This is an excellent opportunity for us to get some feedback from the residents in the Spring Hill community about their health concerns so we can work together on those issues," said Ron Rondeau, interim administrator of the Florida Department of Health in Volusia County.

The program consists of an overview of the Community Health Assessment process, a community health data presentation, breakout sessions and feedback. There will also be a performance by the Spring Hill Boys and Girls Club's youth group and refreshments.
