The conditions where people live, learn, work, and play affect a wide range of health outcomes. Removing barriers that prevent residents from having an excellent quality of life, should involves all sectors of our community.
The Florida Department of Health in Volusia County not only engages community partners in addressing these needs through community health planning, but the agency also offers direct programming. For example the Florida Department of Health provides nutrition programming in our community, tobacco cessation for pregnant mom’s and their families, a complete school health program, breastfeeding support, overdose prevention resources, and a housing program for individuals who are HIV positive.
