I Am My Brother’s/Sister’s Keeper in the Park Conference

What: “I Am My Brother’s/Sister’s Keeper in the Park Conference”

Who: The Minority AIDS Network, a collaborative effort between the Florida Department of Health in Volusia County (DOH-Volusia), the City of Daytona Beach, VITAS, Halifax Area Ministerial Association, Community AIDS Network, and Stewart Marchman Act Behavioral Healthcare, works together to provide HIV/AIDS counseling, testing and prevention information throughout the community.

Why: The annual event is held to encourage men and women of all ages to be tested for HIV. No-cost testing will be offered on site. Prevention, education and resource information also will be available. Entertainment will include live music, a talent show, poetry, dance and drama promoting youth-oriented HIV education. Food will be provided.

Who should attend: Youth and adults who like to know their HIV status or who are looking for information on HIV/AIDS resources.

When: Noon - 3 p.m., Saturday, May 7

Where: Daisy Stocking Park, 550 3rd St., Daytona Beach

Cost: There is no cost to attend.
