Volusia County Sees Increase in Students Working Against Tobacco Chapters
Daytona Beach, Fla - Volusia County is seeing an increase in participation in Students Working Against Tobacco or SWAT. There are more than one dozen schools that indicated they would participate this year. Last year, there were seven SWAT chapters. Each school will have its own SWAT advisor who is trained to guide the students through the meetings and activities.
SWAT is Florida's statewide youth organization working to mobilize, educate and equip Florida youth to revolt against and de-glamorize Big Tobacco. SWAT is a united movement of empowered youth working towards a tobacco free future.
This year’s SWAT clubs are:
Basilica School of St. Paul (Daytona Beach)
Creekside Middle School (Port Orange)
Deltona High School (Deltona)
Holly Hill School (Holly Hill)
New Smyrna Beach Middle School (N.S.Beach)
Ormond Beach Middle School (Ormond Beach)
Reign Homeschooling Academy (Daytona Bch.)
Silver Sands Middle School (Port Orange)
Southwestern Middle School (DeLand)
Spruce Creek High School (Port Orange)
Taylor Middle School (Pierson)
Taylor High School (Pierson)
Word & Praise Christian Learning Center (D.B.)
