News Release: COVID-19 vaccination event in Deltona

January 05, 2021

The County of Volusia, in partnership with the Florida Department of Health in Volusia County (DOH-Volusia), will hold a COVID-19 vaccination event for individuals age 65 and older from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Jan. 7 and 8, at Dewey O. Boster Sports Complex, 1200 Saxon Blvd., Deltona. Only the Moderna vaccine will be provided at this site. The site will operate as a drive-up site and pre-registration is required.

Appointments are required and must be made at volusiacountyc19deweyoboster.eventbrite.com. Online registration will open at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5. One thousand appointments will be available each day and are available in one hour timeslots. Once a timeslot is full, appointments will no longer be available during that timeslot. There is a maximum of two registrations per transaction. Individuals who are not able to access the internet via a computer, tablet or telephone may call 866-345-0345 for assistance scheduling an appointment until registrations have reached capacity for this event. Calls will be answered on a first come, first serve basis. All Volusia County Public Libraries have internet-accessible computers available for free use. Should appointments be affected by inclement weather, registrants will be notified in advance.

Individuals must have an appointment to receive a vaccine and should arrive at the site during the hour which their appointment is scheduled. Due to limited capacity, individuals are encouraged not to arrive prior to their confirmed timeframe. Individuals without an appointment will not receive a vaccine.

Vehicles must enter the site via a right turn from Saxon Boulevard; left turns into the entrance will not be permitted. Vehicles must exit via Section Line Trail; no entrance on Section Line Trail will be available.

DOH-Volusia will return to this location in 28 days to offer the second dose to those who are due. Those who receive a vaccination Thursday or Friday should plan to return to the site in 28 days for their second dose. Individuals may not report to a different site for their second dose. When returning to the site, DOH-Volusia will only offer the second dose of the vaccine.

DOH-Volusia continues to receive COVID-19 vaccines from the state, and additional sites will be available on both the east and west sides of the county in the coming weeks.

The County of Volusia and DOH-Volusia do not charge for COVID-19 vaccines. The only official website to make an appointment for vaccinations Jan. 7 and 8 at Dewey O. Boster Sports Complex is volusiacountyc19deweyoboster.eventbrite.com. Appointment opportunities listed on any other website or which request financial information are not valid.
