DOH-Volusia - Not A Lab Rat Rolling Billboard Hits the Street May 1
April 24, 2019
Daytona Beach, Fla. - Don't be a lab rat for Big Tobacco. That's the message the Florida Department of Health in Volusia County will share with youth beginning May 1.
Intended to educate youth and the community on the dangers of electronic cigarettes, the two-message billboard will appear for one day at every middle and high school campus across Volusia County during the last month of school. New Smyrna Beach High School is the first stop.
The billboard will continue to be visible around the county at high-traffic areas through June.
Two fact-versus-myth messages will be displayed. The first debunks the myth that the liquid used in e-cigarettes is safe. The other educates that e-cigarettes do contain nicotine.

The campaign is part of a strategy in the Florida Department of Health in Volusia County's strategic plan to increase healthy life expectancy by reducing inhaled nicotine.
