The Path to Continued Success in Preventing Perinatal HIV Transmission

This program will highlight the importance of educating community providers on Florida’s law related to HIV/STD testing in pregnancy.

OBJECTIVES:

Identify the challenges related to increasing the HIV/STD testing rate of pregnant women in Florida.
&
Recognize the importance of implementing consistent HIV/STD testing strategies to achieve a positive outcome for all HIV-positive women and their exposed newborns.

Hilda Leon has a long history of working in partnership with other community providers to care for and teach HIV positive pregnant women the importance of compliance with treatment and care for her and her baby.
